Savannah

Savannah

Savannah, Georgia, is one of the oldest cities in the United States, and the oldest established city in Georgia. Seated on the Savannah River since 1733, Georgia’s state capital has played an essential role in the history of the state and the United States, largely due to its use as a port during the American Revolution and the Civil War.

Today, Savannah remains an important center of industry, and its port is still an epicenter of trade for the Atlantic Ocean. In addition to its history and industry, however, Savannah is also renowned for its great beauty. Its cobblestone streets, gorgeous central squares, and antebellum buildings enchant millions of residents and visitors.
